Having studied interior design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and art history at Arizona State University, Jen CK Jacobs worked for nearly ten years as an editorial photographer. Her photography and styling work has been exhibited throughout North America and is held in private collections across the globe; her clients included Chronicle Books, Roost Books, Martha Stewart Living, Delta Airlines, Food & Wine, Food Network, and Kinfolk magazine among others. Her work has been featured in countless publications including TIME, Lucky, Redbook, Marie Claire, O, The Oprah Magazine, Refinery29, Daily Candy, VOGUE online, and Bon Appétit online. She has authored several books including Instant Love: How to Make Magic and Memories with Polaroids, Photographing Your Children: A Handbook of Style and Instruction, Gem and Stone: Jewels of Earth, Sea, and Sky and The Circadian Tarot: A Daily Companion for Divination and Illumination (all under the name Jen Altman). This book helps connect with those same thoughts and emotions-the memories, the possibilities and the dreams of future time on the road.Reading it, is like taking a road trip itself-the beauty of her photographs immediately transports you around the world..She captures the beauty and glory of being on the open road, and outlines the best ways to enjoy that time with family and friends. As our daughters grow, and our travels become more adventures, they too loved this book and started sharing all of their ideas for future trips , near and far.A great gift as well for friends that have the travel bug and in these early days of summer dreaming and planning.

This book arrived just in time for a quick trip away for the weekend and I've been devouring it ever since. Hitting the road has always been a form of spiritual cleansing and recharge for my battery and having this book to sink into while sitting on park benches next to my husband and watching our son play and explore and make new friends was a complete delight and true medicine, especially getting to ready about the trip to Iceland that we were so fortunate to be a part of. This book reminded me to perk up my senses at every moment and to be truly present to absorb the magic of being in a place away from home. And I loved the part about creating the road trip playlist and paying attention to the music you hear along the way. Music has a way of cementing the memories and making them last. All around a joy to read!!

What a wonderful writer and photographer! Jacobs takes you to faraway places and makes you want to dust off your suitcase and book a trip immediately. Her perspective on how to travel and discover magic experiences is so refreshing. She has great insights, tips and inspiration for all types of trips. She inspires not only through her beautifully descriptive writing style but also through her evocative photography. Perfect balance of aesthetics, great writing and practical content. The styling of the book and the format is also artistic and unique. It will be my go-to before, during and after any of my future trips. :)
