This book is a simple, succinct, supportive collection of stories and principles, which is a lot like a meal at Chick-fil-A: simple, customer friendly, and nourishing. My favorite parts were "Identifying the Product" and the presentation of the "Second-Mile Service" idea.

Their politics not withstanding, Chik Fil A makes some tasty chicken in my opinion and it's rare to get bad service from any of their stores. I wanted some insight into how they did it.If you're looking for a revelation, it's not here. Cathy basically believed in hard work, running lean and taking care of your customers. He handles it in the manner a religious southern gentlemen raised in Depression Era Georgia would. This book is a quick read, offers some insight into the early days of CFA, but it's nothing in depth.

Reading this book I realized one of the best executions of "Occam Razor". It fascinates me how people complicate things when just focusing on very basics can lead you a very long way.For instance its so true what Mr. Truett Cathy says that generation today listens more to music that is full of curses than learning manners that will excel them in personal life and business.Very short read and highly recommended for those that want to say Occam Razor applied in a very competitive business and then generating billions!

I have been introducing my children to various people through history via biography. I saw this & thought it would be a great book about someone from their time period. It is a wonderful, easy , albeit short read. It is a great success story for student to discuss: why did he do what he did, what difficulties did he face & how did he overcome them, how would you handle the problems he faced, what can you learn & apply to your own life from this person?.A wonderful addition to our biography library.

I absolutely loved reading this particular book of Mr. Cathy's. I literally teared up at parts where you truly get an inside look and get to know what an amazing man he was and the legacy he has created. I aspire to take his philosophy wherever I go in life. This book should be a "Must Read" for any and all organizations. Humble beginnings to holding fast to his convictions. Amazing!! Highly recommend.

This short little book had some great truths in it. I'm giving it only 4 stars, as I would have loved to read more. This is a good 30 min. read, but with more good ideas than some books that take a weekend to work through.I ordered more of Mr. Cathy's books already, and am hoping he expands on this book in them.

Husband is a fan of Truett. Good to read About successful men of faith. Light reading. Not a in depth profound book, but still good.

Got it for my grandson who had to do a report on someone that helped change the world. Amazing story of one man, with integrity, keeping his eye on the goal he set for himself and never wavered from his mind set of being honest. Truett Cathy was an amazing man, and a must read.

I purchased this book for my business class to help write a paper about Truett's leadership/management style. The book was a good story and I learned many interesting things about his life. It is a very short read.
